Zenaido “Zip” Segura, Jr., 60, of Temperance, MI, died of cancer on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family . Born January 6, 1958, in Brownsville, TX, he was the son of Zenaido and Aurora (Perez) Segura, Sr. Zenaido was a 1976 graduate of Clay High School, where he was an outstanding athlete. He married Joanne Desmond on August 21, 1982. Zenaido was employed as an insulator out of Local 45, in Toledo, OH for 30 years, retiring in 2007. He was the kind of guy who was always helping someone in need. He enjoyed fishing and camping at Lost Peninsular, cooking, golfing and spending time with his family. His nickname was “MacGyver”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; children, Zenaido “Chip” (Corrine) Segura, III, Suzanne Segura and Chad (Amanda) Segura; brothers, Jose (Minerva), Mario (Nancy), Arnie (Tammy), and Miquel (Diana) Segura; sisters, Rosalinda (George) Morin, Aurora (Juan) Rodriquez, Mary (Paul) McElhaney, Diana (Richard) Heitmeyer, Ramona Segura and Leslie (Brad) Damron; sister-in-laws, Donna (Joseph) Wells and Brenda (Kevin) Mack; Cunados, Tim (Julie) and Tom Desmond; grandchildren, Ava Segura, twins, Audrey and Kenzie Segura; step-grandchildren, Owen, Olivia and Grady. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, James Desmond.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am. The family wishes to thank the dedicated nurses of Promedica Hospice. Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice. Love You and will miss you “Crawdaddy”.
